The long slog of winter is behind us,  on to new  and re-newed works!

I stretched 3 new linens recently. Primed first with rabbit skin glue, then applied gesso 3 times. Gallery wrapped. Yum, Nothing like home cooking your painting base. I know it does take time, but really, it’s worth it.

I am back to the signature crows (with changes) prepared-linen-image-ready3oil-in-progress-4-093as you can see. I’ll be shooting the work in stages so you can get a feel for what happens during the course of a painting. I am fond of starting with an ochre or brownish base these days – painting “out of the dark”. Revealing the image from the shadows.
